Digital Development & Access Committee
DDAC Charge

Plan, create, and implement information technologies and technology-based information access and services for the SUL Collections; analyze and assess current practices, policies, and procedures for digital development; recommend new and improved levels of service; advise the CSUL regarding trends in digital projects and services.

History
The SUL Digital Development and Access Committee (DDAC) was established in 2005 as a successor to the Digital Projects Planning Committee (DPPC). The DPPC in turn was established in 2002 as the successor to the Digital Projects Planning Committee (DSPC). The DSPC was the successor to the Digitization Discussion Group formed in March 1997.
Responsibilities
Standards, access issues, interfaces, digital archives; data capture, preservation, and access.
Leadership
Chair and Vice Chair appointed by CSUL.
Membership
Heads of Library Systems/Technology, Digital projects librarians, and FCLA Representative.
Voting
1 per library; FCLA is non-voting
Subcommittees
Standing subcommittees are composed of staff from the SULs.
  1. Digitization Subcommittee (DSC): Digitization projects such as PALMM, Electronic Theses & Dissertations (as approved by CSUL)
Meetings
Meets at least 4 times per year; Chair meets with CSUL as called.
Reports
Due 2 weeks month before CSUL meeting (Feb. 15, May 15, Aug. 15, and Nov. 15) to CSUL.
